Previous Job Description:
As a caregiver I had to wear different hats, I had different responsibilities and task . My major objective was to keep my patient healthy, comfortable and safe. Maintaining the personal hygiene of my patient was just a small part of my overall responsibility as a caregiver. Monitoring his blood sugar in the morning and evening , getting his blood pressure 3 times a day, weighing him every morning and recording and documenting everything everyday including , medicine in-take is very important , these data helps doctors in giving my patient a good medical advice, and they will only be able to do that if I provide them with accurate informa-tion. Making sure doctor?s or therapist?s ins-truction is followed and medical appointments is attended. Providing healthy meals and snacks, regular exercise is vital to avoid complications and health deterioration. Formulating a plan for a worse case scenario (medical emergency situa-tion, fire, earthquake, and other unforeseen events) has helped me in a couple of occasions.
My patient?s personal and social life was my next priority, I make it a point that he was just not healthy but also happy and content. Setting lunch dates with friends and family, visit old friends, traveling to Florida, Connecticut, Washington D.C., upstate New York, by car , plane, and ferry as long as our doctor permits us. I regularly prepare a weekly and daily schedule that I e-mail to his family before the start of the week, this provides them all the information they need to decide if I am meeting their expectations and standards and it is also an effective way of communicating with them. Almost four months in a year for the past 3 years I stayed in Bal Harbour Florida with my boss without supervision from the family and has given me all their trust and confidence.
Respecting my client?s religious belief and helping him practice and preserve his beliefs and traditions strengthens his Spiritual life that also helped his overall well being. I religiously take him to the synagogue every Saturday or any Jewish celebration as long as his health permits, prepares kosher meals, Shabbat dinner, Passover, and going to cemeteries to visit family or relatives who passed away. I was also responsible in keeping and preserving their valued possessions like jewelries, equipments, appliances and their 3 luxury homes worth millions of dollars, but the most important and most precious treasure of the family that they entrusted to me was the life of their father that I took seriously and whole heartedly with tender loving care.
