| Description: | Monique Canniere has gained a solid mastery of the violin. Her classical training allows her to explore many genres including jazz Brazilian folk Celtic and classical. Monique earned her BM in Violin Performance at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania where she was a scholarship student of Dr. Kenneth Sarch. She earned her MM in Jazz Studies at University of the Arts in Philadelphia where she was a student of world-renowned jazz violinist John Blake. Monique also has extensive vocal background in jazz classical and choral styles. She currently performs as a freelancer in the Philadelphia area. She has appeared in various venues such as the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts World Cafe Live the Appel Farm Festival and the Leacouris Center. 'As a performing musician with solid teaching experience in both private and classroom settings' Monique enjoys giving clinics master classes and performances wherever possible to promote stringed instruments in jazz and other improvisational styles. She currently teaches private lessons and classes at Soundstage School of Music in Oreland PA. |
